Madison land grant two months before the burning of Washington

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 13 x 8.75, June 22, 1814. Land grant issued to John H. Brinton and Isaac Bonsall for a parcel of land under an “Act of Congress entitled ‘An Act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States in the territory north-west of the Ohio and above the mouth of the Kentucky River.’” Signed at the conclusion by Madison and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Edward Tiffin. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed lower edge, two vertical folds, and some light creasing and wrinkling. The white paper seal is crisp and intact. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
