Description

Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan

American pilot (1907–1995) best remembered for a 1938 navigational “error” (now widely believed to have been a purposeful protest against government red tape) that landed him in Dublin instead of his stated destination of California. Signed book: That’s My Story. First edition, first printing. NY: E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc., 1938. Hardcover, 5.5 x 8.25, 221 pages. Signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the first free end page, “To Mary Jane Burr, Douglas Corrigan 1-21-39.” In fine condition, with slightly irregular toning to the pages, an owner’s bookplate affixed to the inside front cover, and light wear to the spine. RRAuction COA.
