ALS, one page, 4.25 x 7, November 22. Letter to Chicago publisher Alexander Belford. In full: “Some time since I wrote requesting the return of the illustrations for Miles books which were not returned with the two sent recently. What is the occassion of this ommission?” Letter is affixed to a slightly larger piece of buckskin, in turn affixed to an off-white mount, and framed to an overall size of 14.5 x 17.5. Pencil notation of “1896” in another hand written next to date, slight show-through from adhesive on reverse, some scattered light soiling, and a few creases, otherwise fine condition.
