American boxer (1905–1974) who was heavyweight champion of the world from 1935 to 1937 and whose career was dramatized in the Oscar-nominated 2005 film Cinderella Man. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Emmett Ledwith, a real swell fellow, best wishes, Jimmy Braddock, 12/7/35.” In very good to fine condition, with paper loss to bottom edge, scattered light creases and surface marks, small chip to top edge, and signature and inscription a couple shades light, but completely legible.
