King Curtis

Dynamic tenor sax player whose work graced countless rock-and-roll and R&B records. He was stabbed to death by a drug addict with whom he argued outside his New York City apartment on August 13, 1971. DS, signed “King Curtis (Ousley),” one page both sides, 8.5 x 11, April 18, 1962. Curtis agrees to appear on American Bandstand performing one recorded selection for $147.60. Signed at the bottom by Curtis, who also prints his name above his signature, and printing his name again on the reverse. Also signed by Dick Clark. In fine condition, with punch holes to left edge.
