Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New York (1726–1798). Ink signature, “Lewis Morris,” on 2.5 x 1.25 slip affixed to a larger lightweight card. The slip has also been signed by New York Senator John Sloss Hobart (1738–1805). Light soiling, otherwise fine condition. In his 1995 reference History Comes to Life, Kenneth Rendell places Morris’s autograph material into the “rare” category among the Signers. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
