Description

“During a mission, the hardest thing is to stay on schedule, remember everything, and do each job correctly”

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, NASA letterhead, April 24, 1985. Letter discussing her interests and entry into the space program. In part: “I was very happy to be selected in 1975 and have enjoyed my career with NASA very much. Being an astronaut is a challenging career, both mentally and physically, and I recommend it highly. The 51-A mission was very exciting because we both deployed two communication satellites and retrieved two satellites. During a mission, the hardest thing is to stay on schedule, remember everything, and do each job correctly. But it’s also a lot of fun!…I have been assigned to fly on another Space Shuttle mission early next year.” In fine condition, with some light edge creases, and a trivial spot to bottom. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
