Tragic soul legend signs with William Morris

Popular rhythm-and-blues and soul artist (1931–1964) who recorded such hits as “You Send Me,” “Cupid,” and “Twistin' the Night Away.” The 33-year-old singer was shot to death under mysterious circumstances at a Los Angeles hotel on December 11, 1964. Fantastic DS, three pages both sides, 8.5 x 11, William Morris Agency letterhead, November 18, 1960. Standard two year Artists’ Manager contract between Cooke and William Morris, with Cooke agreeing to pay the standard ten percent commission. Crisply signed on the reverse of the last page in blue ballpoint by Cooke. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. In fine condition, with punch and pin holes to top edge. A well-preserved item from a talented young singer who came to a tragic end. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
