Two color NASA photos, one 8 x 10 and one 10 x 8, each signed and inscribed in black ink by Slayton; and a one page TLS, dated March 2, 1987, on Space Services Inc. letterhead. Slayton writes to the photograph’s recipient, a young girl recovering from an illness. In part: “Very few people in this country will have the opportunity to fly in space during the foreseeable future because of the great expense involved and comparatively small number of flights. However, for every person that flies, there are about 10,000 support people on the ground covering the broad range from basic design concepts to real time operations.” In fine condition.
