Lincoln 4th of July cavalry appointment

Partly-printed war-dated DS as president, one page, 13.5 x 16, July 4, 1864. President Lincoln appoints Harrison Moulton a “First Lieutenant in the first regiment of Cavalry.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink, “Abraham Lincoln,” and countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. Cloth matted and framed to an overall size of 21 x 23.5. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed and rounded top edge, previous storage folds, with one horizontal fold bisecting Lincoln’s signature, handwritten portions of text light, but legible, some scattered toning primarily to upper right, and blue seal intact and slightly worn.
