Description

Hall of Fame’s “Bruiser”

Pro and College Football Hall of Famer who joined the NFL's Brooklyn Dodgers in 1938 and his weight eventually went to 215 pounds--still light for a tackle, but he retained his iron-man reputation, often playing 60 minutes a game. During his nine-year professional career, he missed just one game, when a hand infection turned into gangrene and doctors refused to let him play. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Kinard on the practice field, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “Best wishes Eddie—Frank ‘Bruiser’ Kinard”; and an ALS, signed “Bruiser Kinard,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, dated January 4, 1974, which accompanied the signed photo. In part: “As per your request I’m sending autographed picture…Thanks for your interest in me.” In fine condition, with some light toning to letter’s edges. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
