Selznick graciously complies with an admirer’s request: “All too rarely does one hear from those at whose minds and hearts our efforts are aimed”

Pioneering film producer (1902–1965) who became one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. Among his greatest triumphs were the consecutive Best Picture winners Gone with the Wind and Rebecca. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Selznick, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Ms. Mochnal, With thanks for your appreciation, David O. Selznick 1954”; and a one page TLS, signed by Selznick, 7.25 x 9.5, dated October 30, 1954, on his personal letterhead. Written to the photo’s recipient, in part: “All too rarely does one hear from those at whose minds and hearts our efforts are aimed; and even more rarely does one hear from them in terms of approval…Complying with your request, I am happy to enclose a photo.” In fine condition, with light edge and corner creasing to photo, and a small mounting remnant to top left. Letter has light mounting remnants to each corner tip. RRAuction COA.
