Counterculture psychologist, author, and LSD advocate (1920–1996) who became one of the most colorful and controversial media figures of the 1960s and ’70s. Signed book: Timothy Leary, the Madness of the Sixties and Me. First edition, first printing. NY: Peter W. Hyden, 1974. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.75 x 8.25, 264 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page, “To Steve Keyser, Timothy Leary.” On the opposite page Leary adds an explanation of the book and author: “This is an interesting book. Slack [the author Charles W. Slack] was a wonderful pioneer prophet of the Humanist Psychology movement. If the ‘60s’ were ‘mad’ what would we call the 80s? Timothy Leary 5-89.” In fine condition, with price clip, and some scattered light wear and soiling to dustjacket. RRAuction COA.
