Vintage matte-finish 5 x 8 portrait, signed in the lower border in fountain pen by Marshall; and a TLS, one page, Secretary of Defense letterhead, dated May 17, 1951. This letter accompanied the aforementioned photo and reads, in part: “You are also very kind to include me in such august company—I had the opportunity of working very intimately with the late President and former Secretary of State.
