TLS signed “Duke,” one page, 7.25 x 10.25, personal letterhead, April 5, 1950. Wayne kiddingly writes to Academy Award-nominated film producer Charles Feldman. In full: “’Man Enough for Millie’ was good reading but it scared me a little because it’s practically the story Jack [John Ford] is going to do in Ireland called ‘The Quiet One,’ by Thomas Walsh. About the only difference is the big hats. I started ‘The Way West’ last night-will finish it sometime this week.” In fine condition, with two punch holes to top edge, a couple pencil notations, including one under signature, and some light toning to right edge. Charles K. Feldman headed the Famous Artists Agency, and his most notable films included A Street Car Named Desire, The Seven Year Itch, Casino Royale, and The Glass Menagerie.
