Vietnamese Christmas card from 1970 sent to Army Archerd, measuring 8.5 x 4 closed. Inside bears a pre-printed Vietnamese sentiment, with Hope writing on the inside front cover: “Dear Army—This is one of the best yet—Neil Armstrong is killing ‘em—and all the gals are after his moon rocks. Have a Merry Xmas and a big 70, Bob Hope.” At the conclusion of the Taiwanese sentiment, Hope jokingly translates the text to “Which means Key Luke is a fag.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Hope’s hand. In fine condition. Armstrong took part in Hope's 1969 USO show, primarily to Vietnam. Tabloid newspapers printed stories that romantically linked Armstrong to Connie Stevens who was also on the tour, but the reports were unsubstantiated. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
