Description

Jean Harlow

Film legend who brought charm and a seeming cognizance of sexuality to comedies during the 1930s, becoming the model of feminine sexuality in films for the next decade. Her films include Platinum Blonde, Red Dust, Bombshell, Dinner at Eight, and Saratoga. She died of uremic poisoning at 26. Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 Preston Duncan photo of Harlow in profile, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To the most adorable Half-pint in the whole world. Your [sic] a great little pal—and I’ve learned to love you an awful lot. Best, Jean Harlow.” In poor to good condition, with some light skipping and ink loss to Harlow’s signature and inscription, scattered moderate to heavy creases, a couple tears to left edge, scattered spotting and staining, and some irregular toning to upper portion of image passing through Harlow’s face and affecting appearance. Despite its flaws, authentically-signed Harlow images are scarce, and this is an otherwise beautiful portrait. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
