Rare Wagner handwritten letter to his future wife, just months after he became the second player in baseball history to achieve 3000 hits

Famed shortstop and manager (1874–1955), widely regarded as one of the best all-around players of his era, who was one of the five original inductees into the Hall of Fame in 1936. ALS, in pencil, signed “Jay,” on the correspondence side of a 5.5 x 3.5 picture postcard of the Newark, Ohio High School, no date, but postmarked December 2, 1912. Postcard to his future wife, Bessie Baine Smith. In full: “Hello Jerry, Just got here will stop over then start in morning. Just 15 miles from the place. Best to all allso [sic].” Originally acquired from the Honus Wagner Estate sale. Encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder. In very good condition, with expected overall wear, scattered creasing, and light toning and soiling. RRAuction COA.
