Grissom commemorates his flight in the Liberty Bell

Astronaut (1926–1967) who perished in a flash fire during a test of the Apollo 1 command module that also claimed the lives of Roger Chaffee and Ed White. Commemorative cover with a cachet honoring Grissom’s Project Mercury flight, signed under the cachet in black ink, “Virgil I. Grissom.” In fine condition, with just a touch of trivial skipping to a couple strokes of signature. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
