DS, signed twice in fountain pen, “Harry S. Truman,” one page, 8.5 x 13.75, February 19, 1930. Truman, as presiding judge of County Court, authorizes the payment of $7,615.16 to the Chicago and Alton Railroad Company for the completion of the Twenty-third Street (or Alton Avenue) Subway in Independence, Missouri. Accompanied by a TLS, October 19, 1928, signed by four county and city officials, approving the plans for the Alton Avenue Subway and a clipped newspaper article relation to the proposal. In fine condition, with two file holes to top edge, scattered light creases, and mild handling wear. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
