Description

William Tryon

Colonial governor of the Province of North Carolina and the Province of New York (1729-1788). Partly-printed DS, signed “Wm Tryon,” one page, 13 x 8.25, July 7, 1772. Tryon appoints Peter Cronyn an Ensign of Captain Henry Hansen’s Company in the Regiment of the Foot. Signed along the left edge by Tryon under the embossed wafer seal. Integral second page bears docketing to one panel. Intersecting folds, scattered creases and wrinkles, scattered toning and foxing, a few small areas of paper loss along bottom of folds, and several tape repairs to separations and tears on reverse, otherwise very good condition. A scarce Colonial autograph. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
