She pioneered modern nursing and hospital practice, and her prowess as a mathematician led her to develop a number of important innovations in the field of statistics. Fountain pen signature clipped from the closing of a letter, “Fare you always well, Ever yours, Florence Nightingale,” on an off-white 5 x 1.5 slip.
