Unique, eye-catching 20.5 x 18 print of Paul and Linda McCartney cuddling, signed in green ink, “All the breast! Paul McCartney, Martinique ‘76,” and “Beautiful, Thanks, Love, Linda McCartney,” adding a smiley face under her signature. The print is affixed to an identical size board, which is in turn affixed to a 24 x 18 board. In fine condition, with several small chips of surface loss to lower left, and some scattered light toning and soiling.
Accompanied by provenance, including a photo of Paul and Linda posing with the artist Christianne and her original drawing from which this print was made, along with a printed letter of provenance from the artist detailing how she met Paul and Linda in Martinique in 1976 and states, “We all became friends, hung out in Martinique, and the portrait…was painted for them…Paul said they would hang it with pride in their bedroom.”
Paul’s joyful sentiment would prove eerily prophetic as Linda would be diagnosed with breast cancer 19 years after this print was signed, and she would succumb to the disease less than three years afterward.
