Benjamin Stoddert

The first United States Secretary of the Navy (1751-1813). DS, signed “Ben Stoddert,” one page, 8 x 12.5, December 31, 1800, as Secretary of the Navy, detailing the salaries of himself and the clerks and messengers employed in the Navy offices for the last quarter of 1800. In very good condition, with a trivial portion of the upper left corner missing, a small tear to the right side, a few scattered light spots of toning and soiling, and scattered horizontal folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
