Description

Peanuts “Gospel” with not one, but two original Snoopy sketches

Signed book: The Gospel According to Peanuts. Later printing. Virginia: John Knox Press, 1964. Softcover, 5.5 x 8, 127 pages. Signed on the inside front cover, “Schulz,” adding a very nice full-length sketch of Snoopy, dated in another hand February 17, 1966. Additionally, removably affixed to the table of contents page is another full-length sketch of Snoopy running on all fours on an off-white 4.25 x 3 lined sheet, signed underneath, “Schulz,” and signed and inscribed by the author, “Benjamin—May all your griefs be good ones, Robert Short.” Written above the sketch, in the recipient’s hand, “Signed and inscribed, February 17th 1966, ‘In Person’ at the Presbyterian San Anselmo Seminary, CA, to Future Aviator & Author Benjamin L. Williams.” In fine condition, with some light foxing and soiling to covers, a few notations to opening pages, and wear and soiling to spine. Fabulous item with two different sketches of Snoopy offered, including an uncommon one of Snoopy on all fours! RRAuction COA.
