Born Count Barnaba Niccolò Maria Luigi Chiaramonti, pope from 1800-1823. ALS in Italian, signed “Card. le Chiaramonti,” one page, 8 x 11.25, July 24, 1788. Letter written while a cardinal, to prelate in Venice, who apparently after having fulfilled a diplomatic mission, had announced his imminent return to Cesena. Light intersecting folds, a few light creases, including a couple of light ones to signature area, and a few light spots, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
