Arky Vaughan

Major League Baseball shortstop, described as one of the greatest hitting shortstops ever, batting over .300 in every season through 1941. At the age of 40, in 1952, while fishing in the ocean just off the coast of Eagleville, California, Vaughan and a friend were caught up in a storm, their boat sank, and the two men drowned. Vintage ink signature, “Arky Vaughan,” on a light green 4.25 x 2.5 slip, affixed to a 5 x 3 card. In fine condition, with two blocks of toning to vertical edges, one lightly underneath portion of first name of signature. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
