Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731–1796) and seventh President of the Continental Congress. Partly-printed DS, signed “Saml. Huntington,” one page, 15.25 x 9.5, November 2, 1792. Governor Huntington appoints Joel Hawkins to the position of “Major of the thirty-first Regiment of Militia. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Huntington. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered toning, edge wear, creases and tears, and a few small holes of paper loss along folds. The paper seal remains intact, and Huntington’s signature is prominent and unaffected by most of the flaws. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
