Vintage pearl-finish 10 x 13 Bull portrait of an introspective Gable, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mush, Best wishes always, Clark Gable.” Reverse bears an original MGM studio caption affixed to the reverse, with an ink notation below stating that this signature was obtained in a “Cab from Shubert, ‘Idiot’s Delight,’ Hotel Warwick (not living there), Mon. Nov. 1, 1936.” Surface creasing, mostly to the background, corner creases, tack hole to the upper edge, scattered light silvering to darker areas, and some light contrast to signature and inscription, otherwise very good condition.
