Farewell dinner menu, 5 x 6.25, from the SS Leviathan, from its November 1924 voyage. Valentino and, well, the “female Valentino” signed this interesting souvenir. Aboard the SS Leviathan, Rudolph Valentino, his wife Natacha, and actress Nita Naldi chose their dinner selections from this menu (Naldi co-starred with Valentino in The Hooded Falcon that year). The charming memento arranges the list of dishes vertically in three different columns, and read vertically, the first letters of the dishes being offered spell-out the name of the three distinguished guests. Showcasing their appreciation for this thoughtful service, both Valentino and Naldi signed the back of the piece. The menu exhibits a couple of small squares of toning from vintage tape on its front side, but is otherwise in fine condition. Accompanying the unique heirloom are four original and unsigned photographs, three of which picture Valentino aboard the ship. Two years after this voyage, the silver screen star passed away at the age of 31. RRAuction COA.
