Two items: TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation letterhead, dated August 28, 1952. Shaw responds to a collector’s request. In part: “It was indeed a pleasure to receive your letter…sorry to hear you were unable to attend Medical College this Fall. I also sincerely hope this temporary set-back will not prevent you from continuing with your Medical education. You will find the enclosed autographed picture which I am both happy and proud to have in your collection.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope; and a vintage 4 x 6.25 magazine photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to the letter’s recipient, “To Tom Boyce, Sincerely, Wilbur Shaw.” In fine condition.
