My friend G. Gardner ... authorizes me to offer a mortgage on his farm at N’Bergh, estimated at 150,000 Dolls. to raise the money for me.... My associate Mr. Lathrop has lately sold a farm for about 14,000 dolls of which 3000 is payable and will be paid in August next. He does not owe 50 doll. in the World, and practices cautious habits, never will.
