ALS as president, one page both sides, 4.5 x 6.75, Gray Gables letterhead, June 19, 1895. Letter directing copies of several personal letters be sent to the New York World Chief Editor W. H. Merrill. Merrill was a longtime editor of The World, Merrill would later hold the same position at the Boston Herald. In part: “In the lower drawer on the right hand side of my table is a sort of book-looking thing which is a letter file in which I keep some private letters. Under the letter ‘M’ you will I think find some letters to me (2 or 3) from W. H. Merrill…I wish you would have copies of all such letters sent to the writer…” In fine condition.
