American admiral (1801–1870) who was commander-in-chief of the Navy during the Civil War. ANS, in pencil, signed “D. G. Farragut,” on the front of one of Farragut’s personal calling cards, 3.5 x 2, no date, but written between 1866-1870, as “Admiral,” in in the title of his card. Farragut pens a brief note of introduction, “Introducing Mr. Ehinger Artist.” In fine condition, with scattered light soiling. RRAuction COA.
