American artist (1870–1966) best known for his luminous, often fantastic landscapes and romantic illustrations of nudes. His 1920 painting Daybreak was extensively reproduced, becoming the biggest-selling print of its day. ALS, one page, 7.75 x 10, June 17, 1901. Parrish writes to Frank Chouteau Brown. In full: “The lettering will be sent to you this week without fail.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Parrish’s hand. In 1902, Brown published Letters and Lettering, which included several illustrations and samples by Parrish. Intersecting mailing folds and a hint of subtle soiling, otherwise fine, bright condition.
