Hitler’s personal pilot (born 1897). During the final days of World War II, Baur tried to convince Hitler to let him be flown out of Berlin; Hitler refused and thanked Baur for his long, faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin, and lost a leg in the attempt. A prisoner of the Russians until 1955, he died in 1993. Eleven hardcover copies of the book Hitler at My Side, each signed in ink.
