The MERCURY SEVEN astronauts pose with a training aircraft

Color glossy 13.25 x 10.5 photo on a 15.5 x 19.75 mount, depicting the Mercury Seven posing before a test aircraft, signed on the mount in various inks by Leroy S. Cooper, Jr., Virgil I. Grissom, Alan B. Shepard, Jr., M. Scott Carpenter, John H. Glenn, Jr., Walter Schirra, Jr., and Donald K. Slayton. Provenance: the son of the original owner, who was crew chief on the F-104 Starfighter used by the Mercury crew. Housed in the original frame measuring 16.75 x 20.75 overall. In very good condition, with mild toning and light staining to mount (lightly touching Grissom’s and Slayton’s signatures), slight fading to Shepard’s and Schirra’s signatures, light allover surface marks and slight color shift to photo, and chips and wear to frame.
