Description

“Maybe I’ve been shorn of my coyness”

ALS signed “XX Audrey,” four pages, 5.5 x 8, Villa Bethania, Bürgenstock letterhead, July 14, 1959. Hepburn writes to Anita [screenwriter Anita Loos]. In part: “It is terribly important to me what you think and I am oh so grateful and happy…. Some jobs seem to take a greater chunk[?] of oneself than others both physically and emotionally—this one I swear aged me by 10 years—a good thing I dare say maybe I’ve been shorn of my coyness. Anyway it was an experience never to forget—and more than ever I stand in awe of those who do so much for others—those who live their Christianity without talking it and to whom we can give thanks today for miracles like leprosy being curable…. The weather is hot yet a cool breeze at all being like ice cream with hot chocolate sauce. All our children are here….” In very good condition, with marginal ink stamp and wrinkling, creasing, and a few tears to text. RRAuction COA.
