Description

“EVERY ONCE IN A LIFETIME ALONG COMES A JUDY GARLAND”: BERLIN praises the star of Easter Parade

ALS, one page, 5 x 6.75, Terrace Plaza Hotel, Cincinnati letterhead, no date. Berlin writes to Judy Garland. In full: “I was told you are due in Chicago for the opening of your picture. This note is to wish you good luck ’tho from all I hear you won’t need it. As I have often said ‘Every once in a lifetime along comes a Judy Garland.’ And that still goes….” The letter likely relates to the 1948 film Easter Parade, in which Garland costarred with Fred Astaire, and which included 17 of Berlin’s songs. In fine condition. A most notable association! RRAuction COA.
