Description

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers

Two items: 1) TLS signed “Fred Astaire,” one page, 8.5 x 11, AVA Productions letterhead, April 7, 1959. Astaire writes to Milton Kramer. In part: “I regret that I will not be able to use [the song ‘Don’t Dance with Me’] as you suggest…. In my opinion the lyric of this song could be misconstrued as slightly suggestive and that may be against its value….” 2) TLS signed “Ginger Rogers,” one page, 7 x 10, personal letterhead, February 14, 1968. Rogers writes to a fan. In part: “I am delighted my performance in ‘Hello Dolly’ is among your treasured memories of events….” Accompanied by the mailing envelope for the Rogers letter. Scattered handling wear (light wrinkles and creases) and faint stain to Rogers letter, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
