American modernist writer and critic (1885–1972) whose works, particularly his poetry, occupy a central place in twentieth-century letters. ALS signed “E. Pound,” on a 5.5 x 1.75 picture postcard, May 4, 1920. Pound writes from Venice to Gwen John in London. In full: “Sorry, distance too great. Your card just recd.” Please note that while the format is unusual, the postcard is as issued and has not been trimmed in any way. In good to very good condition, with scattered soiling and staining, a few creases, and punch hole touching one word of text. R&R COA.
