Ernest Hemingway

Nobel- and Pulitzer Prize–winning American author (1899–1961) of such canonical classics as For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. Pristine ink signature and inscription, “To Fran, Best always, Ernest Hemingway,” on a cream 5.25 x 4 slip to which was later added an image of a bell and a printed quotation from For Whom the Bell Tolls: “Any man’s death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.” In fine condition.
