Two identical programs from an “Au Revoir Dinner to the Texas Rangers” [polo team] at the Riviera Country Club, April 15, 1935, 4.25 x 5.5 (closed), one signed and inscribed in black crayon on the back panel, “To Me-Amigo Senor-Gilpatrick Protarco, Caramba, Will Rogers,” the other signed and inscribed in pencil, “To the 10-Goal Female, Mrs. Gil Proctor, Best of luck, Will Rogers.” The second program is also signed and inscribed in pencil on a different panel by western star [Guinn] “Big” [Boy Williams] and several other attendees. According to the consignor, the inscribee was Gil Proctor, a polo expert at the Riviera Country Club, and the items were obtained from his estate. Accompanied by six vintage photos of other players at the club, two signed. Light soiling and handling wear to programs, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
