Uncommon full ink signature, “Zachary Taylor, Capt., 7th Inft. U.S. Army,” on a cream 5 x 1.5 slip clipped from a document. Taylor was promoted to captain of the 7th Infantry in 1810; he was breveted a major in 1812. Two light vertical creases to first name with associated subtle toning, otherwise fine, bright condition.
