Composer (1859–1924) best known for such popular operettas as “Babes in Toyland” and “Naughty Marietta.” Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10.5 Harris and Ewing portrait photo (image size 5 x 7), signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the original photographer’s mount, “C. S. Baer, compliments of Victor Herbert, April 1909,” with Herbert adding a two-bar AMQS from, “Yesterthoughts” to top left corner. In fine condition, with mild silvering to image, mounting remnants to reverse, and a light shade of toning to mount. R&R COA.
