Description

“Literally overwhelmed with professional engagements”

ALS signed “Frank. Pierce,” one page both sides, 7.75 x 9.75, October 4, 1851. Pierce writes from Concord to John H. Steele in Peterborough. In part: “Altho’ I am literally overwhelmed with professional engagements, I am very glad you have thought proper to commit Mr. Cleaveland’s letter to my hands for an answer. I shall attend to this pleasant duty at once…. Do you propose to attend the State Agricultural Fair at Manchester. If so I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you there on the third day….” Intersecting folds, stray ink spot, and a very subtle hint of soling, otherwise fine, clean condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
