TLS, one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, September 9, 1965. Ike writes to producer David Levy in Hollywood. In part: “Thank you for your recent letter as well as for the warning continued in its first sentence. Without it I would have certainly been puzzled, to say the least. Concerning the substance of your letter I can say nothing except that I am delighted in the attitude you are taking about the need for reversing the trends which presently seem to be bringing about a loss of respect for law and morality. I personally am not only continuing to express these sentiments publicly whenever circumstances permit, but am really hopeful that the Republican Party will promptly adopt a similar attitude and make the effort a principal feature of its platforms, programs and objectives. Such action would not only be good for the country but, to my mind, would win the enthusiastic approval of millions of our citizens….” Faint brush to last name, otherwise fine, clean condition.
