Vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 10.5 Harris and Ewing portrait photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen as Vice President, “To my friend Senator Seldon P. Spencer, with regards, Calvin Coolidge, July 1922.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 13.25 x 16.25. Spencer was elected to the U. S. Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the death of William J. Stone; and served from November 6, 1918, until his death. While in the Senate, he was chairman of the Committee on the Committee on Indian Affairs and the Committee on Privileges and Elections. A bit of trivial foxing, and some mild silvering to darker background, otherwise fine condition. Coolidge served for only two years as vice president prior to Warren G. Harding’s death.
