Description

Reflective: Scarce photo of early Hollywood casualty THELMA TODD

American actress (1905–1935) best remembered for her appearances in such comedy classics as Monkey Business, Horse Feathers, and Another Fine Mess. Though her death from carbon monoxide poison at the age of 30 was ruled an accident, suspicious circumstances led to a number of theories of varying plausibility, including speculation that she was the victim of a “hit” ordered by gangster “Lucky” Luciano. Early sepia matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 photo of Todd nuzzling a mirrored ball, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Blinky, One who always gives me divine frocks never worn, Thelma.” In fine condition, with pinholes to corners, a hint of subtle soiling, and faint scratch to fur. R&R COA.
