Description

Prolific and prodigiously talented French Romantic composer (1835–1921) of such timeless works as the “Organ” Symphony, the opera Samson et Dalila, and the perennial concert favorite Carnival of the Animals. ALS in French signed “C. Saint-Saëns,” one page, 5.5 x 7.5, February 9, 1911. Saint-Saëns writes from Algiers to an unnamed gentleman, noting that Madame Jomelli has had great success singing his Pallas-Athénée. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (lightly touching first initial), a touch of mild soiling and handling wear, and edge tear with archival repair. R&R COA.
